About
We are a Melbourne based 20 piece big band chock full of brass, keyboards, guitars and drums. Made up of up and coming big band musicians, and a sprinkling of senior players/mentors/teachers.
Audience members pick a track from the set list of 20 odd songs, get up on stage with the lyrics in big type on A3 paper, and sing a number karaoke style. Two backing singers make sure any lost sheep straying from the righteous path are gently steered back into the fold. Meaning, it'll sound great regardless!
So to all you legends out there belting out bangers in the shower and slaying 'em in the local karaoke bars, this could be your only chance ever to front an all live 20 piece big band!
Who Is Running the show?
Dave Palmer
The band has been put together and is led by Dave Palmer, multi-instrumentalist brass supremo and the 'charts guy' for the band, with over 35 years experience of performing, teaching, writing music and recording. Dave currently plays with the Flying Cowboys, The Matt Amy Really Big Band, Toshi Clinch, The Sedergreen Brothers, Reverand Funk and the Horns of Salvation, and many more.
Bee Parsons
Many, many years of singing, teaching and performing. Main vocalist for the band, in charge of guiding any lost singers back to the righteous path. Bee currently fronts her own "Beetet', sings with the Matt Amy Big Band, and has performed in Cats and numerous other stage shows and bands.
Matt Broadbent
Decent Drummer, average singer, able to work a crowded room with mike in hand. Best known for fronting ayotollas of kid's rock 'n' rollas The Rrrrrockets. Will MC night and take turn on drums as necessary.
Katy Addis
Katy started her trumpet-playing career in orchestras around the country, but later fell in love with musical comedy — performing with the Itchy Feet Pep Band and comedy duo Brass Bedlam. After 30 years on the trumpet, Katy is now polishing up her Celtic fiddle skills and slowly toughening up her fingers on the double bass.
